Let’s say I want to go to on a safari in Kenya.  It would be total sweetness for me to take a non-stop flight from Washington, DC straight onto a little landing strip next to my safari hut.

But there isn’t.

And the reality is, so what?  The only question is:

Where am I and where do I want to go?

I love the idea that no matter where we want to go in this world, there IS a way to get there.  While non-stop flights are easy and quick, if there isn’t one available, do you just give up on your destination and never leave your house?

Of course not.

You find connections. You fly from LA to London, then to Cairo, then to Nairobi. Then you get your determined jet-lagged butt on a 2-hour bus ride to the safari lodge. In other words…

You make it happen.

You take a stand for what you want and let yourself and the Universe open up to figuring out how to get it to manifest.

Here are three practices to help you get from point A to B. Or from point A to P to T to H to L to B.

1. Get into alignment.

If there ARE easy, in-the-flow paths to get you where you want to go, they’re gonna come to you when you’re in the flow.  In the flow with what?  YOU. THE UNIVERSE. WHAT YOU WANT. And when you do get in the flow, even just a teeny tiny bit, things shift. Synchronicities start to appear.  You hear the song lyric that inspires you to call your friend who coincidentally knows of a job opening at the place you’re dying to work at.  You miss your subway train but on the next train you strike up a conversation with your seatmate who ends up becoming your wife.  Life gets a little bit easier.  And more fun. So get into the FEELING state of that what you want.  How will you FEEL when you get what you want? Make your decisions from THAT space and watch what happens.

2. Notice your patterns.

Where in your life do you look only for shortcuts, the easy way out?  Are you quickly giving up on what you want, just because you can’t find an easy way of getting it? Do you create even more negative mojo in yourself by complaining about the fact that there isn’t an easy way visible to you right now? Now the point isn’t to avoid shortcuts or streamlined ways of getting what you want.  Efficiency, smooth rides and not having to reinvent the wheel are great things. But if there isn’t one readily available, take a moment to see how you’re choosing to respond. And does that response keep you open to possibility or shut them down?

3. Let go of how.

Are you attached to the journey or end result looking a very specific way?  Take a look back at all the important experiences and things that you’ve created, manifested and attracted.  Could you have predicted exactly how and when it happened?  Or how it looked in the end? If focusing on how it’s “supposed to look” like is keeping you frustrated, maybe it’s time to trust a little more in the Universe AND your own intuition help you.  If getting specific gets you frustrated, start talking a little more general about what you want.
